Hey fam,
This week went well, a little chaotic, but well. I only have 8 minutes. So we had a baptism Sunday morning at 7 in the morning right before church. But Saturday night we had to fill up the font, by hose, which was taking forever so we got one of the youth to come over and watch it until it finished. When we showed up in the morning at 6:30 it was about half full and was looking pretty gross. But the bishop showed up, who had the keys to the font faucet, and we filled it up rather quickly, added some chlorine (I think) skimmed of the top and we were set. I will have to admit this was bad planning on our part, for not talking to the bishop earlier about everything. But we had the service and all went well. Ramon is fairly shy but he is a good guy who wants to the right thing. His mom who isn't a member showed up and they had a special moment together after his baptism.
Also a youth (well not so young) will be leaving for his mission Wednesday and he bore his testimony in Sacraments meeting and some of his family members did as well. His dad isn't a member but he came to church, well groomed, to see his son off. This was a surprise to my companion because previously he had been very against the missionaries or coming to church. But after the meeting he was very kind and asked us why we hadn't come to the farewell party the night before. We honestly told him we didn't know and wish we could have been there. So he invited us to come over this Tuesday to see his son off for one last time.
I hope all is well in Hawaii and with the whole fam, I love you all. Changes were today but neither my companion or I were changed out, so another possible 6 weeks with Elder Larson, which I'm totally fine with, we get along well and enjoying the work.

Hello all!
I’m in my new área with Elder Larson from south Jordan, from Bingham high. He’s a great missionary, just as happy as ever, really gets along with the people well. He does magic for the kids and they love it. This area is right along the ocean, well the Gulf of Mexico. So I get to see the beach. To get to district meeting we cross a river by ferry over into town. Most of the streets are sand and we do a lot of teaching sitting next to palm trees. There are two wards in this area and we are the missionaries for both, so we are in church for 8 hours every Sunday. We are excited for conference. It is probable that an investigator (Ramon) will get baptized in-between seccions.

Hey East High Elders!
I love to hear how are of you are doing out in your missions. It makes me so happy to know that there are people out there learning from your examples. This people will never forget you. As for me I’m down in Mexico by the beach and loving it. I am so lucky to be in an area where I’m sure parts of the book of Mormon took place. To be able to tell people that this is the account of their ancestors brings it even closer to home. I have seen the power of the Book of Mormon taking affect in the lives of the rich, poor, old, young and everything in between. When people get lost in life, feel depressed, lose hope, or don’t know where to turn, the book of Mormon has the ability to heal, council and consol. I am thankful for the hundreds and I’m sure thousands of people who have sacrificed everything to bring this book to pass. It truly is sacred and I am developing my appreciation for it more and more every day. Keep smiling east high, be yourselves and cherish every minute. Be like escalators, constant, steady, always rising.

Letter from 02/20/2012
Hey Hey Hey!
This week has been a good week. We've had several wonderful experiences and are doing our best to help our investigators progress.
The other day we were out contacting, talking to the people of Pomoca and in mid conversation with one man, another women came up and waited to talk with us. We finished talking with first contact and she related how she had a son who just didn’t want to do anything: school, work, help with the family, nothing! She said shes done just about everything possible to animate him, to get him excited about doing something with his life, but hes basically just depressed. He does have a job though, selling tortillas by motorbike all day long. But she never knows where he is, who hes with, or what hes doing. So she told us to come by Sunday morning to take him to church. I found this rather interesting, especially considering she had never talked to us before or heard of the Church but I presume she figured what did she have to lose. So we passed by for this 15 year old boy, practically woke up and he came. He came to church, willfully and enjoyed it! He went to class with the other boys his age and plans to attend the youth activities this week (in which they are selling tamales (sorry I don’t know how to spell anymore) and hes in charge of the salsa. After church he was actually smiling! I love it, absolutely love it! He was still a little hesitant to talk much but I could tell he was a bit excited about everything!
Our other investigator sadly didn’t come this week…but were working on that!
Sorry I don’t have time to write much more, but Id like to hear from the east high boys! You can send them what ever you see fit! I love you all and will write more next week, this week I figured Id finally get you some pictures.
A few scriptures I love from this week Mosiah 5:15 Mosiah 2:21-22. Mosiah just seems to have it all doesn’t it.
Wish the family the best for me and I hope my tree house living parents are having the time of their lives.

Letter from 02/13/2012
I'm sitting here typing away with my new companion Elder Callejas who is from Mexico City! Wow is he a wonderful companion, I just love how every Elder has his own unique personality and how it collaborates with the work. Hes a bit shorter than me and very happy, quite jolly actually.
We had stake conference that last two days and an investigator joined us. He's the teenager who I think I talked about last time, who's been stressed out from so much work and school. The messages we heard were a lot about the family, responsibility, and future missionaries. When a speaker asked for everyone of ages 15 and up who are preparing to serve a misión, he looked at my companion and i and then stood up with the other 15 or so youth who are lookin to serve a misión. After the conference another youth from our Ward came up to us and happened to have his misión packet with him, we pulled out the letter and went over it with him, as if he was receiving the call. He was quite enthused and excited about everything. We are looking to see if he can be baptized this Sunday and if not the following!
We are also teaching and nurse (who happens to be sick at he momento). But she is rather funny and likes to laugh a lot. But sincerely said she would pray to receive an answer if Joseph Smith was called of God to be prophet. All is well that goes well!
My companion apparently likes to run, so were up at 5:30 everyday, bright and early running laps around the park! I actually quite enjoy it but certainly feel it the next day. I need to keep all these tortillas off.
Oh and we watched 17 Miracles with and inactive family this week and it was really touching, we finished with a prayer and felt the spirit strongly. I love love love being here in Pomoca, Tierra Colorada, Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico. Nowhere Id rather be. Okay Hawaii would be pretty nice, but for right now Ill just have to wait on that until after the misión.
Love you all gotta run! And sorry if some words were changes, I think its auto correcting in Spanish or something.
